Mobile Storage Costs

Mobile Storage Costs Shouldn't be a Mystery

Mobile Storage costs shouldn’t be a mystery. Many portable storage container rental businesses require you to fill out a long form or call them for pricing.  This results in a call from a high-pressure salesperson trying to twist your arm and add on charges. It shouldn’t be that difficult.

That’s why Jump Box decided to do business a little different. Our goal is to provide you with as much information as possible on mobile storage costs with a minimum of hassles. For Jump Box, simply go to JumpBoxmove.com and select the pricing button. Pretty simple. That’s why we designed it that way. View Jump Box Mobile Storage pricing.

Typical portable storage unit rental pricing is broken down into 5 components.

  1. Delivery and pick up charges

Pick-up and delivery charges are broken down into an initial flat fee. If the delivery is outside the normal delivery area, an additional per mile charge is applied. Keep in mind that you will be charged for both delivery and final pick-up as separate charges.

  1. Local Moving charges

If you are using the mobile storage unit for local moving, delivery and pick-up charges are multiplied on a per-occurrence basis. In other words, you will be charged the initial delivery charge, a pick-up and transport charge and a final pick-up charge. Mileage is calculated as the distance from a service location plus charges for all mileage charges including the return to the service location.  If there are multiple drop-offs or pick-ups, each service occurrence is charged. Note: Jump Box doesn’t offer long distance move service, so this is not covered here.

  1. Monthly charges

The monthly lease costs are pretty straight forward. Companies charge on a per month basis.  It gets a little more complex when you have a container delivered on a day after the first of the month.  Some companies will charge you for a full month, no matter the date. Others, like Jump Box, will pro-rate your charges on a per-day basis.

  1. Coverage

Many people are unaware that they are responsible for the safety and condition of portable storage containers while in their possession. It may be combined with their monthly charges or broken out as a separate charge. The advantage of a separate charge is that your homeowners or renter insurance may cover the container while it is on your property. If so, you may be able to avoid that charge.

  1. Additional Services

Some companies offer materials or equipment on a purchase or rental basis. Jump Box offers a move starter kit consisting of several boxes, tape and packing materials in a bundle.

There are a number of considerations when choosing a portable storage rental service other than price. No one likes to receive inconsistent or incorrect information, have a long wait for a driver to show up or a dirty, unkept container.  At Jump Box, we are proud to offer containers in either new or like-new condition, thoroughly cleaned before delivery. Our customer service is getting attention. People love to work with us. That’s why we have a 5-star rating with Google!
